Why Afrikye

A specialist partner with the focus of a boutique firm and the discipline of a large one.

Owner-managed accounts

Every Afrikye engagement is led by a founding partner. There is no junior account-handler layer, no escalation matrix, and no internal handoff between sourcing and placement. The consultant who takes your brief is the consultant who works it through to offer. For clients accustomed to being passed between account managers at larger firms, this represents a meaningful difference in continuity, accountability and depth of brief understanding.

Level 1 B-BBEE accreditation

As a 100% Black-Youth-Owned and managed agency, Afrikye contributes meaningfully to clients' enterprise development, preferential procurement and supplier development scorecards. Compliance documentation is provided on appointment and updated annually. Clients with active scorecard requirements can expect their procurement position to be supported from the first invoice forward, with no additional administrative burden on their internal compliance teams.

Defined methodology and guarantee

Every placement follows a structured methodology. All shortlisted candidates undergo V-Report background verification covering criminal, qualification, identity, driver's licence and credit checks. A minimum of two reference checks are completed with previous employers. Psychometric assessment is available on request. Afrikye underwrites every placement with a three-month replacement guarantee, with terms negotiable to client requirements.

Methodology

Our methodology.

Every Afrikye engagement follows a structured five-stage methodology designed to ensure consistent quality across briefs of varying size, sector and complexity.

01

Brief development

Each engagement begins with a structured intake session between the Afrikye consultant and the client hiring authority. We document the technical requirements, cultural context, reporting structure, compensation parameters and success criteria for the role. Where appropriate, we challenge or refine the brief before sourcing begins, on the basis that a clear brief produces a faster placement.

02

Sourcing

Candidate sourcing is conducted across multiple channels: established professional platforms (Pnet, Careers24, CareerJunction and LinkedIn), Afrikye's proprietary candidate database, direct head-hunting outreach and referral networks. The sourcing mix is calibrated to the brief — head-hunting is the primary channel for senior and specialist roles; database and platform sourcing supports volume mandates.

03

Screening

All candidates are screened through Afrikye's tailored intake process. The screening framework is configured per brief and captures structured responses through a controlled data-entry format, allowing efficient comparison across candidates. Telephonic, video (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and in-person interviews are conducted as required.

04

Verification

Shortlisted candidates undergo formal background verification through V-Report, covering criminal record checks, qualification verification, identity document verification, driver's licence verification and credit checks. A minimum of two professional reference checks are conducted with previous direct managers. Psychometric assessment is available on request.

05

Placement and post-placement support

Afrikye supports the offer and acceptance process, advises on counter-offer management where relevant, and remains in active contact with the placed candidate through the notice period and into the first weeks of employment. Every placement is underwritten by a three-month replacement guarantee.
